Until the beginning of 2015 the Swiss National Bank (SNB) pegged the Euro to the Swiss Franc at a rate of 1.20. However, the SNB shocked markets by scrapping its peg at the beginning of that year and the pairing accordingly experienced extreme volatility.
Prior to the introduction of the peg, the EUR/CHF exchange rate achieved a high of 1.6807 but following its removal the currency pair plunged to a low of 0.9820.
